One-year extension to marine services contract for 102-turbine windfarm off the Suffolk coast
We have secured a one-year extension with ScottishPower Renewables to provide marine services for its East Anglia windfarm.
The extension is from an initial two-year contract covering all marine services for the operations and maintenance of the East Anglia ONE windfarm off the Suffolk coast.
We opened an office in Lowestoft to support the regional growth, which recognises the significant steps we've been making in its diversification into green energy.
Our managing director Wayne Henderson said: “We are proud to be part of the East Anglia ONE project that is delivering such a significant impact on the UK’s low carbon future.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with the efficient, safe and successful operation of the windfarm development, as well as bringing our risk-focused approach - developed over 25 years in offshore operations - to future projects.
“More than 80% of our clients have been with us for more than 10 years so we’re all about working in the long term.
“Four years ago, 95% of our business was in oil and gas in the North Sea. It is now 60% oil and gas and 40% renewables.
“ScottishPower Renewables shares our firm belief that effective risk management delivers significant and measurable business advantages that drive both performance and value.”
East Anglia ONE is playing a major part in contributing to the UK’s target of meeting Net Zero by 2050. The 102 wind turbines – situated 43km off the Suffolk coast – have the capacity to produce 714MW of clean energy. Each year, the windfarm will produce enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of more than 630,000 homes.
